The Joint Implementation Team is composed of Chief Executives and Directors from across the County and District Councils. It will work during the transition to provide top level leadership and direction to shape the establishment of the new authority and to determine key strategy and policy issues.

The responsibilities of the board include:

• Development of the Wiltshire Council Vision, values and cultural framework
• Guiding the development of the Corporate Plan, the Medium Term Financial Strategy and the 2009 - 2010 budget.
• Clarifying the relationship between the Local Area Agreement and Local Government Reorganisation
• Maintaining an overview on costs during the transition period

The Joint Implementation Team will also oversee the development of a number of strategies across the five authorities, including workforce planning, the customer access strategy, communications plans, the branding of the new council and the approval of the property and ICT strategies.

The JIT is accountable to the Implementation Executive.
