Welcome to the Towards One Council Website, a one stop shop for all news relating to the transition to one council for Wiltshire.

What matters to you?

From April 1 next year, Wiltshire’s four district councils and the county council will merge to become a single, ‘Wiltshire Council’.  In its first year the council will have a budget of approximately £800 million.

Your views are important to us and we want to know what you feel should be the priorities for the new council.  With this in mind, we have organised seven special meetings across the County, in October and November, to discuss Wiltshire Council’s budget and other issues relating to the creation of this new unitary council.

Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, which will be held on:

2 October - Neeld Hall, Chippenham

13 October - Pembroke Arms Hotel, Wilton

21 October - Ivy House Hotel, Marlborough

22 October - Corn Exchange, Devizes

6 November - Kings Arms Hotel, Malmesbury

10 November - Sarum College,Salisbury

15 October Conference and Development Centre, County Hall, Trowbridge

All of the meetings will start at 6.30 pm and finish at around 8.30pm.  There will be light refreshments from 6pm.  To book your place please call our customer care centre on 01225 713000 or e-mail: CustomerCare@wiltshire.gov.uk to confirm.

You will also have your chance to vote about the budget at local events and roadshows that will take place in towns across Wiltshire during October and November.  The dates of these events will be published shortly.

To promote the budget consultation campaign we are producing a series of posters, using the faces of local people.  Have a look at the links on the right to find out more.
