Draft Recommendations - New Electoral Arrangements for Wiltshire Council

As expected, on 1 July 2008 the Boundary Committee published its Draft Recommendations for Wiltshire. With this, Stage Three of the review process commenced. The Draft Recommendations are available below:

A brief analysis of the Draft Recommendations indicates that the Boundary Committee have accepted the council size of 98 members and have made minimal changes to the County Council’s original submission. Further detailed analysis will now be undertaken and reported to County Council on 15 July.

There will now be a further consultation period of eight weeks up until 25 August 2008 during which all interested parties can make representations to the Boundary Committee both in support for or against the Draft Recommendations.

At the end of this eight-week consultation period, the Boundary Committee will submit their Final Recommendations to The Electoral Commission.
