Community Leadership and Governance - Current Activity

The Project Initiation Document for the Community Leadership and Governance workstream has now been finalised. This brings together all of the key objectives to be realised by the workstream over the transition period.

A report on the location of pilot areas for the new governance arrangements and the impact of the decentralisation of services and decision-making on frontline services will be considered by the Joint Implementation Team and the Implementation Executive at their March meetings. The Workstream Board will meet again on the 24th March to consider the decisions taken by these two key decision making bodies.

Further development work is taking place on the upcoming Parish and Town Council Sessions. A number of workshops are also to take place with the Frontline Services workstream to look at common areas of work between the workstreams.

The draft options for the boundary review were agreed by the Boundary Review Working Party on 18th March. A formal consultation period has now commenced. The comments recieved in reponse to this consultation will inform the County Council's discussions on the 18th April when it meets to consider its submission to the Boundary Committee.
