The strapline for the new Wiltshire Council was announced today (Monday 6 October) and reflects the suggestion from over 240 local residents.
will be used beneath the Wiltshire Council logo to identify the new authority and what it stands for.
During September Wiltshire’s new council took to the road to get local people involved in shaping the identify of the new council. Four roadshows across the county asked local people to provide three words to describe the new Wiltshire Council.
“We wanted to get local people involved in helping to shape the personality of the new council. We asked residents what they wanted from their new council and had an overwhelming response. We were delighted with the comments and suggestions we received and have used these to create this strapline. I am delighted that we are using a statement that reflects the feelings of local residents.”
“The new council will be taking a customer focussed approach, and intends to listen to residents and involve them in local decision making through the new style area boards. With this in mind we decided to start as we intend to continue by involving local residents. We believe that the strap ‘Where everybody matters’ reflects this approach,” explained Jane Scott who chairs the implementation executive overseeing the transition
Residents who participated in the strapline competition were entered into a prize draw. Four lucky winners were drawn from each of the roadshow area, they are Gary Hughes from Devizes, Mr Lesley Finch from Trowbridge, Dorothy Wheadon from Chippenham and David Chilton from Salisbury.
Each winner will win a day for two at a local spa – the four prizes which are worth up to £200 each have been donated by local hotels and businesses.
